Globe and Mail: Pampered in the picture-perfect Rockies
JASPER, ALTA. — The small, northern Alberta town of Jasper may not seem to be the most logical road trip destination for a relatively young couple celebrating their five-year wedding anniversary, especially with my co-pilot approaching the start of her third trimester of pregnancy as we thumpety-thumped our way to this isolated town of just more than 4,000 residents.
But as part of a Rocky Mountain driving experience that alternated between awe-inspiring views of nature and pampering luxury resorts, the most northerly stop of our tour of Alberta provided copious amounts of what less romantic, but more enthusiastic, drivers may appreciate most about this tour: lots of seat time on some of the most amazing roads in Canada.
Jim Kenzie: When the clock nears 3, your driving is smoother
“Keep your mind on your driving, Keep your hands on the wheel …”
– “Seven Little Girls Sitting in the Back Seat,” by Paul Evans and the Curls (1959)
You all probably know some drivers with whom you don’t mind being a passenger. They have a certain confidence in their manner behind the wheel, which inspires the same in you.
They might even drive faster than some of the others within your circle.
So, what is it that makes the better drivers that much better?

Latest BMW Art Car Debuts at San Francisco Museum of Modern Art
At first, we thought the pictures were messed up on BMW’s press server, because we saw this thing and were like, “What the hell?” We were expecting a livery like Andy Warhol’s BMW M1, or even Sandro Chia’s M3. Instead we found this, a H2R race car that’s been stripped of its body shell and has been recovered with a “complex, translucent skin made of steel mesh” and “layers of ice” that “critically and poetically reflects on the relationship between global warming and the automotive industry.”
Lovely.
Back from the grave – The M3 Sedan
Absent for the past ten years, BMW’s M3 sedan has been caught testing — denuded and free from any masking — over at M3Post.com, revealing the details of BMW’s compact sport-sedan revival. Most noticable is the E92 coupe front end grafted onto the E90 sedan body, as well as the M3’s standoff-mounted mirrors and quad tailpipes. Enter to see this family sized rocket!

OTTAWA — Could it really be so – that GM’s Hummer is more than 40 per cent greener than Toyota’s Prius? That Ford’s F-Series pickup is greener? That GM’s Silverado pickup is greener? That Dodge’s Ram pickup is greener? That Cadillac’s DTS, a full-sized luxury sedan with a V8 engine, is greener? Could it be, in fact, that seven different luxury-class automobiles are all greener – and that three of them are Cadillac models?

Q & A With BMW M Vice President Gerhard Richter
The next generation M3 hasn’t even reached our shores yet and already a steadfast commitment from the man himself, Gerhard Richter, that there will be a E92 M3 CSL some time in the near future. The E46 M3 CSL never made it across the pond, however I believe that we have a fighting chance when it comes to the E92. Click through read Inside Line’s interview with Gerhard about his passion project; the E92 M3.
BMW turns 90!
On the 21st of this month, the BMW name turns ninety. Back in 1917, on this date, the BMW trademark was registered for the first time and two days later a letter sent to senior management informed them of the new name with every product built by the enterprise from that date onwards wearing the three letters ‘BMW’.
