The BMW X5 M?

While many spy car forums and bloggers are dubbing this vehicle the X5 M, we have some inside information that suggests that this will be the equivalent of what the 4.8is was to the previous generation of X5’s – the ultimate in power and handling throughout the X5 model line.

Since the M division of BMW is clearly biased to lightweight and rear wheel drive vehicles we don’t agree with the fact this will likely carry the M nameplate rather we think it will be offered as an M Sport version. Bloggers and forums alike are calling for the inclusion of the motor from the 760iL, but we have heard that the X5 M Sport will likely benefit from the new engine in development – the twin turbo V8 putting out upwards of 430hp. Only time will tell what will actually turn up in the vehicle, but with the increased presence of the twin turbo technology in BMW’s lineup I would place my bets on a force fed X5/X6 in the near future.
